Welcome to the Website of the new Buckinghamshire based fully professional A40 Concert Orchestra; the highly successful A40 Choir and versatile founder Music Director of both, pianist and conductor David Meacock M.Mus etc.. The A40 Concert Orchestra was formerly, from 1992-2001, the semi-professional A40 Orchestra. The A40 Choir, which rehearses in Beaconsfield but has members from all over Bucks., was also founded by David - in 1995.
Aims: enriching local community culture by giving amateur and professional musicians the chance to work together and music lovers the opportunity to hear the highest quality orchestral & choral concerts locally.
Visiting artists include members of national UK orchestras, the Royal Opera Covent Garden, ENO and London Conservatoire professors.
Enthusiastic conductor David Meacock is also a formidable virtuoso pianist and a Steinway Artist. His repertoire includes Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 (of Shine fame) and in Switzerland he was compared with the Maestro of pianists Maurizio Pollini. David also has experience teaching - both adults and children, from beginners to concerto performers - and recently gave a recital, lecture & masterclass for the Slovene branch of the European Piano Teacher's Association.
