If you played the piano as a child, or wish you had, it's never too late to start or return to it!

Our recent successes have included:

- though are happy to teach pupils who want to learn for pleasure as an end in itself.

We both have Masters degrees and piano teaching diplomas. We offer locals of all ages, from beginner to diploma standard, the opportunity to benefit from the very best London teaching, but at local prices. As we generally recommend 6 as being the youngest age for starting to learn the piano, our youngest pupils are likely to always be our two children, Charlotte and Edward - now 5 and 4 respectively - who both started to enjoy singing and playing the odd note or cluster of notes before they could even talk! We both teach theory as required.

David, a Member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, has taught privately and in schools since 1985 while he was studying at the Royal College of Music, and then Reading University. His mentors included Iris du Pré - mother of the famous 'cellist - Philip Fowke and Charles Proctor OBE - a 'grand pupil' of Liszt. Recently he gave a recital, a lecture (on piano technique and sound) and masterclass in Slovenia for the Slovene branch of the European Piano Teachers Association. David is also known locally as the founder conductor of the A40 Choir - that's where we met! - and A40 Concert Orchestra. See other pages of this website for further details.

Kate studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama as well as at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where she gained a First Class B.A. Honours degree. Her teachers have included Jean Hickox - the famous conductor's mother - and the pianist/composer Philip Martin. Kate also participated in master classes given by Malcolm Martinu and Peter Donohoe. Following a few years of performing and teaching in Birmingham, Kate returned to Piddington, West Wycombe where she has taught extensively - privately, and in the High Wycombe School of Music - for the last 12 years.
