~ ATHERFIELD ~

These beautifully restored farm buildings are just inland from the unspoilt south western coast of the Island, very close to the villages of Chale and Blackgang. The beaches along this coast are much frequented by fossil hunters and the Dinosaur Farm* is very close by.

The conversion work was completed during the winter of 1999/2000 and all four units have been graded by The English Tourist Board as four stars, with all of them also accepted for the disability grade 2 rating.

The units are situated in a courtyard setting with the owners living in the nearby farmhouse.

Fuchsia is the smallest of the units (behind the trees in the image above) and is ideal for two people. Lavender adjoins Fuschia and can accommodate five, using bunk beds. Lavender and Fuschia have a linking door and so can also be used jointly.

Rose is detached, has three bedrooms and capable of accommodating eight people. It has one bathroom upstairs and an en-suite shower room for the ground floor bedroom, and an additional ground floor cloakroom.

Honeysuckle is also detached, has a first floor family room for three with en-suite bathroom. The ground floor consists of a kitchen, lounge, bedroom (with en-suite shower etc.) and separate shower room. There is an additional first floor bedroom with four single beds.

All the units have their own courtyard patio area, Honeysuckle has its own rear lawned garden and there is a common lawned garden area between Rose and Honeysuckle.

All units have their own washing machine, TV, cooker and microwave etc. and are centrally heated. Rose and Honeysuckle have dishwashers. All quoted prices (please contact the booking agent for current tariff) are fully inclusive, including bed linen and towels and utility costs.

Cots and high chairs are available free of charge, but subject to advance booking. Ample off road parking. Pets welcome at no extra charge, but subject to prior notification. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles. The nearest public transport(buses) are over one mile away, infrequent and expensive, so you need to have your own transport or be keen cyclists/hikers!

*Not as alarming as it sounds - Dinosaurs haven't been farmed here for ages.
