This expedition, running in autumn 2001, will be based in a remote part of Argentina where we can make some first ascents of prominent peaks. We obviously don't want to reveal much more than that over the web but they are easy ascents suitable for those without much previous experience. Our October 2000 expedition was extremely successful, reaching the summits of four 6000m peaks and making three first British ascents and one first ever ascent.
We have now run three previous first ascents expeditions to this area of Argentina. On these we have made first British ascents of three of the ten highest peaks in the Andes (all over 6500m) and also several first ever ascents, including peaks of over 6000m. None of the peaks in this part of Argentina involve any technical climbing - the ascents on this expedition are suitable for strong hillwalkers, though previous expedition experience is preffered due to the demanding weather and camping conditions.
This expedition offers a unique opportunity to climb a big and easy peak in a very quiet part of the Andes.
