Tough Trekking in southern Argentina and Tierra del Fuego

On this trekking expedition we will visit two very different mountain areas in Argentine Patagonia, the Tierra del Fuego national park on the island of the same name and the Los Glaciares national park. Both these parks are famous for the quality of the scenery and the quantity of the wildlife they contain. Because they are so far away, even from the rest of South America, they are still relatively unspoilt. We'll visit the more popular Los Glaciares park first, doing several short walks with overnight camps, followed by a rest day in Calafate with an optional trip to see some of the most spectacular glaciers in the world. Then we'll travel to the island of Tierra del Fuego (Land of Fire) and the town of Ushuaia, the southernmost town in the world. Here we’ll do the remote and wild Sierra Valdivieso circuit, six days in all of wilderness hiking at the far end of the world.

This expedition, which involves some backpacking, is suitable only for regular walkers or trekkers with a liking for superb scenery who don't mind occasional bad weather. There are only eight places on this expedition so please book early to avoid disappointment.
