This expedition will be based in Santiago, the capital city of Chile. It will feature two extended trips to remote but relatively easy 6000m peaks.
The first trip will be to the southernmost 6000m peak in the world, Marmolejo 6108m. We'll trek south from the Terms del Plomo to a high camp at 4600m before climbing by the west ridge. We trek out to the south and the village of Baņos Morales.
After a short rest in Santiago we go to Tupungato, one of the highest peaks in this part of the Andes. The mountain is a similar climb to Aconcagua but much less busy. The approach by the Colorado river valley and ascent will take us a total of 12 days.
This expedition is suitable for those with some previous experience of Alpine mountaineering and previous experience at high altitudes would also be an advantage.
