In this new century why not try skiing on a new continent?
We now offer a program of downhill ski or snowboard holidays in South America. This itinerary is based in both Chile and Argentina, skiing some of the best resorts in both countries. The skiing is on good snow at moderately high altitudes, with plenty of clear sunny days. It is at it's best in August and September, and this holiday is scheduled to run late August. The pistes are incredibly quiet and the snow is usually excellent. If you are a teacher this is your big chance to have a ski holiday without queues!!
These holidays are quite different from our main trek and expedition program in that they are entirely hotel and restaurant based. On this holiday we will visit five of the best resorts in the Andes starting with La Parva and Valle Nevado which lie very close to the Chilean capital Santiago. We then fly south to Temuco and visit the resorts of Villarrica in Chile and Catedral and Chapelco near Bariloche in Argentina. We will ski each area for one or two days, making use of the best weather to ski and the worst to travel.
We use a mixture of small family run hotels and chalet-type accommodation. The cost of lift passes is not included in our price, they cost between $25 and $35 per day, depending on the resort, the season and the day of the week. For more information on the resorts we will visit in Chile and Argentina please visit our resorts in Chile and resorts in Argentina pages.
