So... my solution is to use KP MiNT.CNF which will understand the current set up, and then use GEM dialogues to present all of the valid options to the user. This will hopefully make this a much easier process (as everything will have sensible defaults), making MiNT a realistic choice for more users.
Currently supported .CNF files are: MINT.CNF, GEM.CNF, XAAES.CNF, OAESIS.CNF and N_AES.CNF. I also plan to add support for all of the configuration files in /etc for MiNTnet, allowing a simpler interface for changing network settings.
At this time, MiNT.CNF does not always generate 100 percent perfect config files, however this is a start. I will be releasing an alpha test version as soon as I think that it is functioning in a way approximating a finished product... Unfortunately, I cannot say when this will be.
