So... my solution is to use KP Reschange, which you can install as a tool on one of the Fkeys,
and simply hitting this comes up with a dialogue allowing the user to change resolution.
Unlike the normal dialogue, KP Reschange supports Overscan and NTSC/PAL mode on RGB monitors / TV. NTSC mode is
even supported on the ST.
After the resolution change has taken place, for the chosen desktop (eg. Thing) to be automatically restored, rather than initialising NewDesk, it is essential that the desktop is installed as the shell - so GEM.CNF should contain:
setenv AVSERVER=THING shell C:\THING\THING.APPIn common with all other KP software, This program supports all (appropriate) modern GEM protocols, such as AV window cycling, iconify etc.
