TVTicker

Summary This is a small program to let you easily see UK TV schedules. The default view is a continually updated now/next view, although further information is available from the right-click menu.

The pages are downloaded when TVTicker is started - after this, it does not need a connection to the internet.

Download and Installation
Download TVTicker 1.4

Unzip these files into a directory (eg c:\Program Files\TVTicker\). You may wish to create a shortcut to this in the in the start menu, or on the desktop, but I dont enforce this.

Options

The main dialog is reasonably self explanitary. It shows all the channels that have been selected, and shows the programme currently on, and the next programme. Also shown are the start times of the programmes.

Right clicking on any channel will produce a popup with three options:

View Day
Shows all programmes on the selected channel for that day
Find Programme
Enter a name (or partial name) of a programme, and it will show the times that this programme is on (useful for finding all simpsons episodes!)
Refresh Data
If for some reason you think the information is out of date, selecting this option will force the channels information to be re-downloaded
If you right click upon the titlebar, there are a number of additional options:

Configure Channels
Shows all channels for which information can be displayed. When this window is closed, any channel that is highlighted will be automatically downloaded.
Minimise to Sys-tray
Minimises the window to the sys-tray. Single clicking upon the systray icon will restore the window.
About TV Ticker
Shows version information about TVTicker
When first started, TVTicker will automatically show the Configure Channels window. This list of channels is remembered - as is the window size/position, so you wont have to choose it again.

Dragging the slider along the bottom allows you to have a quick look at whats on at different times - each tickmark represents an hour. The slider will reset back to showing "now" every 30 seconds, and the time next to the slider shows you the time its currently displaying data for.

Reminders Also in the right-click menu upon the title bar is an option "edit reminders". From within this dialog it you can setup reminders so that TVTicker will let you know that a programme you are interested in will start within the next 5 minutes.

The reminders are case sensitive, but you do not have to use the whole programme name - eg, "Star Trek" will cover "Star Trek - Voyager", "Star Trek - Deep Space Nine" etc.

When it is time for the programme to start it will display a message box - even if TVTicker is minimised to the systray.
