Whistler

Summary This program shows you what note it believes you are whistling (singing, playing on an instrument). Its quite a simplistic algorithm at the moment, so it doesnt work too well if there are too many harmonics, or multiple instruments - but it has a go!

Download and Installation
Whistler Beta 3 - binary download
Whistler Beta 3 - source download
Whistler Beta 1+ - source download
Whistler Beta 1 - binary download
To install, simply unzip somewhere, and run it.

Options Simply select your prefered input source on the dropdown, choose your prefered MIDI output (if you want one), and then click the start button - then just whistle away.

If you want to try from a source not listed, double click on the volume control in your sys-tray, and use options -> properties to switch to the recording sources. Tick the source you wish to process - dont forget that if the MIDI output from Whistler is audiable you will get a feedback loop!

History This is a resurection of an idea Xav had when I was part of Kosmik Phish Productions on the Atari platform... I am still sure this could have been done on the Falcon, but it came at the wrong time - oh well (although I am glad I'm not coding half of this in 56k asm).
