 October 8-10:International Symposium for Engineering IT (ISEIT) 2001, Paris, France

In its second year this event covers key engineering IT issues in the process industries and the solutions offered by sponsors CADcentre and AVEVA Consulting. Contributions from the sponsors will be complemented by independent presentations from industry. The programme includes panel discussions, project case studies and sessions addressing business, industry and technical issues.

October 24-26: CIMdata Europe 2001, Barcelona, Spain

The focus this year for this annual event is on yet another acronym - cPDm. Organisers CIMdata define this as "applying a consistent set of business solutions to collaboratively manage the product definition lifecycle across the extended enterprise".

The Computers In Manufacturing show is now in its 17th year. As usual, the event includes a programme of free seminars presented by some of the 100+ exhibitors. November 13-15: CIMdata Plant Information Management Conference (PIMC) 2001, Noordwijk, The Netherlands

Previous sponsors PlantInfo have successfully established PIMC as a leading annual European event. In 2001 the baton passes to CIMdata, who have adopted a theme and structure broadly similar to that of CIMdata Europe (see entry for October). The difference is that the "P" in cPDm stands for "Plant" (or asset) in particular rather than "product" in general.

January 2002

January 28 - February 1: daratechPLANT 2002, Houston, Texas, USA

Since its launch in 1994, daratechPLANT has become an important international forum for the process industries.

In 2002 its scope will be expanded to include segments covering the entire Plant Lifecycle, including preliminary design, simulation, detail design, construction/retrofit, operations and optimisation, decommissioning and cleanup. A common thread running through all sessions will be the integration of systems and solutions that support each of these phases of the Plant Lifecycle.
