Specifications
EPISTLE's focus is on the development of specifications that enable effective and efficient management, exchange, sharing, and integration of life-cycle asset information. Many of these specifications are submitted to ISO, through ISO TC184/SC4 "Industrial Data" for review, approval, and publication as International Standards.
The specifications developed by EPISTLE include:
- The EPISTLE Core Model, a generic data model supporting integration of life-cycle data for process plants.
- The EPISTLE Reference Data Library, a managed collection of standard standard instances that represent information common to a number of users, process plants, or both.
- EPISTLE Templates that provide a basis for exchange between applications including repositories.
- A Data Handover Guide that is intended to support the development of a suitable information handover strategy and plan for process plant engineering projects.
- A data modelling guide that describes how to develop data models that meet defined criteria for quality and reusability
- A consolidated glossary of the terms used within the EPISTLE specifications and the standards derived from them.
