Chy an Gof is a small friendly (non-smoking) guesthouse situated adjacent to Penzance Promenade in a quiet, peaceful terrace of Regency houses all of which are Grade II Listed Buildings of architectural significance dating from the 1820s. All rooms have en suite or private facilities, colour TVs, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests have their own keys and access to rooms at all times. A traditional English breakfast is served and vegetarian's catered for. Numerous restaurants and pubs are within easy walking distance serving excellent fayre. Private parking for 12+ cars in front of the guesthouse. There are magnificent views of Mounts Bay stretching from The Lizard to Penlee Point. Regent Terrace is about two-thirds of a mile from the railway and coach stations. The lovely olde world village of Mousehole and the famous St. Michael's Mount are approximately 3 miles away and the fishing village of Newlyn is an easy 20 minute stroll along The Promenade. Falmouth and Truro are approximately 23 miles away and those wishing to visit the Eden Project can travel by train to St. Austell where a mini-bus will take you right to the entrance thus avoiding long delays queuing on the roads and at the gate. A holiday in Penzance wouldn't be complete without a trip to the wonderful bay of Porthcurno and the outdoor theatre at Minack which nestles among the rocks looking out to sea. Numerous productions are put on throughout the season and the visitors centre has an excellent cafe. Advance booking is recommended. The Isles of Scilly are some 28 miles South West of Land's End and you can visit by the Scillonian ferry which sails from the harbour a few hundred yards away, by helicopter from Penzance Heliport or by Skybus from Land's End Aerodrome. Transport is arranged to take you there. Visitors to the Isles of Scilly may leave their cars at Chy an Gof until they return. Trengwainton is our nearest National Trust Garden about 3 miles from Penzance. The gardens are open to the public from March when the Camellias, Rhododendrons and Magnolia Trees are at their best. Special Offer: Any guest staying during the summer season may enjoy two nights for the price of one from 1st November - 14th December or 14th January - 14th March. Luggage transfers for Coastal Path walkers can be arranged at reasonable rates! Transfers to and from Penzance, Porthleven, The Lizard, Coverack, Helford and Falmouth - other locations can be organised. |
