Club Membership
and the benefits of becoming a member

Membership of the Club is achieved through the payment in full of the current annual subscription fee, except in the case of Life Members for whom no fees are payable. Life Membership is only awarded by the Club in exceptional circumstances in recognition of services rendered to the Club over a number of years.

Fencers only become eligible for membership when they have successfully completed one of our beginners courses and obtained the BFA Achievement Award Level 1 at Foil, or have gained similar experience elsewhere.

Weekly and annual fees are payable by members, the rates for the year from 1 November 2008 being:

Annual
Membership
Members
Weekly
Non-Members
Weekly
£20.00 £5.00 £6.00

Membership runs from the payment of the annual subscription until the following 31 October. Subscriptions are set at the Club's Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in mid-September, and become due on 1 November.

Fencers who first become members of the Club on or after 1 May in any year are entitled to pay only half of the usual annual subscription for the period up until the next 31 October.

Non-members are only allowed to fence at the Club if they are bona fide members of another club and have individual BFA membership. Social membership at another club does not cover a fencer while at West Lancashire Fencing Club.

The Benefits of Membership
