| Membership of the Club is achieved through the payment in full of the current annual subscription for the membership category applicable to the fencer, except in the case of Life Members for whom no fees are payable. Life Membership is only awarded by the Club in exceptional circumstances in recognition of services rendered to the Club over a number of years.
Fencers only become eligible for membership when they have successfully completed one of our beginners courses and obtained the BFA Achievement Award Level 1 at Foil, or have gained similar experience elsewhere.
Weekly and annual fees are payable by members, the rates for the year from 1 November 2006 being:
Category |
Annual Membership |
Members Weekly |
Non-Members Weekly |
| All fencers |
£20.00 |
£4.00 |
£5.00 |
Membership runs from the payment of the annual subscription until the following 31 October. Subscriptions are set at the Club's Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in mid-September, and become due on 1 November.
Fencers who first become members on or after 1 May in any Club year are entitled to pay only half of the usual annual subscription for the period up until 31 October.
Non-members are only allowed to fence at the Club if they are members of another club and have individual BFA membership.
