| After the year 2000, who would have guessed that the IT Job market would go into decline... Existing contractors have had to take massive pay cuts to the point where they desperately seek Permanent Employment, Permanent Employee's are desperately holding on to what little jobs are available due to the influx of contractors, and to top it all everyone's worried that jobs are being outsourced to India! What can we do? Well it seems that the next big thing is skilled labour, i.e. Become a Plumber, Electrician, A Brickie or Plasterer. These skills are in short supply and the existing craftsmen have been bragging in the national press that current salaries are higher than most contractors during Y2K! So we (Justin [Ex-Contractor turned Permie] and My-Self [Permie-Who is trying not to be outsourced to India]) got together over a beer and thought, how hard can this be? Between us we have become master craftsmen and carpentry seemed ideal! Therefore we have become flooring specialists!
