MINUTES OF THE  MEETING  OF THE KING’S LYYN & DISTRICT PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE HELD IN THE RAOB CLUB ON WEDNESDAY  18^th January 2012

1.Opening:  The meeting was opened at  8pm by the PGP Bro Stephen Parkinson KOM  with 21   Officers delegates and ex-officio’s present

2. Roll Call of Officers: The roll call of Officers revealed 2 absent

3. Apologies:   The following apologies were recorded and accepted on a proposition by; P Child CP

January Meeting:-  S Trattle ROH & S Wilkinson KOM

4. Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted as a true record on a proposition by; D Yaxley ROH   Seconded by: E Edwards ROH

5: Absent Brethren:  The Absent Brethren Toast was taken with due solemnity. This was followed by a collection for the Grand Lodge Benevolent Fund.

6. Announcements:   Nil

7. Lodge Reports:

a.       ROH Assembly:  No Meeting in January next meeting 10 February, More members required as getting low in numbers

b.      Knights Chapter: Next meeting 20 January. Reported that John Woodward ROH not well

c.       RAOB Club: Through 2011 safely, more help required in 2012, new members and more participants in the club lottery required

d.      Appleton:  Donated £10 to operation “ShoeBox”

e.      Archdale: Happy Lodge

f.        Century: Three new members initiated, Bro Paul Jacklin CP gave an excellent ceremony. There are now three generations of the Kings in the Lodge.

g.       Faith Hope & Charity: No Delegate

h.      Ouse: Doing well numbers fluctuate.

i.        Philanthropic: Good meeting on Saturday 14^th January enjoyed by all. Donated £800 to the RAOB club.

j.        Royal Elizabethan:  Happy Lodge small in numbers but doing well, will be making a donation to the Gt Massingham Youth Club.

k.       Seymour Howard: Doing well, Bro Tony Framlingham ROH recovering well.

l.        Sandringham: Doing well now settled into meeting fortnightly.

m.    Wiggenhall:  No Delegate

9. Executive Committee Report: The report was accepted a true record of the Executive Committee meeting on a proposition by: J Evans ROH Seconded by: C Chaplin ROH and carried                                           

10.Matters Arising from Executive Committee Report:

a.       Bro M Taylor CP was elected to the office of PGL Minstrel on a proposition by Bro L Watts ROH seconded by Bro J Herbert ROH this was carried

b.      Bro’s J Evans ROH & M Taylor CP were elected as Delegates to Grand Lodge on a proposition by Bro W Rogers ROH seconded by Bro D Yaxley ROH and carried.

c.       Bro D Yaxley ROH was elected as Assistant PG Secretary on a proposition by Bro J Evans ROH seconded by Bro P Childs CP and carried.

d.      Re the letter from the Seymour Howard Lodge reference the “Shoebox” appeal it was agreed that the PG Secretary should write to Grand Lodge expressing our concerns that the MOD are making a charge for the Transportation of these gifts to our Troops.

11. Examining Council Report:  Bro D Yaxley ROH proposed Bro W Rogers ROH seconded that the existing members of the Examining Council be re-elected, this was carried

12. Benevolent Committee Report: Paid out £200 in 2011. Football Black-Out cards have been passed to all Lodges to help raise Benevolent Funds

13. Entertainment Report: Only 57 tuned out on Friday Night to support the Public Installation of our PGP. Bro C Stevenson proposed a vote of thanks to the organisers of both events.

14. Book Examiners Report:  There were no volunteers from the floor to fill the position of PGL Book Examiners, this will be placed on the February agenda to see if we can get two volunteers

15. Late Correspondence:

a.       GLC3/12 – Valentines Day specials at Grove House (Circulated).

b.      Card From Bro Les Watts ROH thanking the Province Members for the gifts.

15. Other Items:  Bro Keith Blades ROH volunteered to take up the Office of PGL Funeral Marshal.

16. PGP’s Report:  I would like to thank all those that attended my Investiture on Friday 13^th January and the Dinner Dance on Saturday 14^th January.  I had a most enjoyable weekend, plenty to eat and drink with very good company.

My thanks go to my sponsors Bro Less Watts ROH and Bro. Colin Venemore ROH also to Bro’s Wally Rogers ROH and John Evans ROH for organising the weekend.

 On Sunday I went to the Century Lodge to witness three Brothers being  initiated in to the Lodge by Bro Paul Jacklin C.P.
