TCP: Scott, how did you first
get into the music industry? SG: I started DJ’ing when I
was about 14, from there I started DJ’ing on pirate radio stations. After
that I opened up a record shop and started DJ’ing more and more in clubs. TCP: What have you been up
to recently? SG: I’ve been very busy
concentrating on the Corrupted Crew with Mike Kenny, we’ve had 9 releases
in the last year. I’ve also being DJ,ing every Friday at Options in
Kingston where we have our night which is very successful at the moment. TCP: How much do you think
garage has changed recently? SG: I don’t think it has
changed very much apart from it has become a lot more mainstream. TCP: How do you see the
garage scene in the future? SG: I think there will be a
split between the R’n’B style garage, which will become more mainstream and
dominate, and underground garage ie. speed garage. TCP: What do you think
about Artful Dodger and DJ. Luck getting into the top 10? SG: I think it’s brilliant,
it’s what the scene needed. TCP: What new talent are we
going to see in the future? SG: We’ve just signed up a
great new R’n’B called, "Legacy" to Chronic records. I also feel we are
going to see a lot more good acts and producers emerging in the next year
because there are a lot of oppurtunities nowadays. TCP: What are you going to
be doing in the future? SG: I am going to be
working on Chronic Records and keeping that going and I am also looking to
do an album deal. TCP: What other music are
you into at the moment? SG: I’ve been listening to
a lot of hip hop and R’n’B. I think the new Dr. Dre and Eminem albums are
excellent. TCP: Finally Scott what
advice do you have for people wanting to start DJ,ing? SG: Don’t give up and keep
persevering.
TCP: Thanks very much Scott! |
