Danny Howells is without a doubt one of the most exciting up and coming DJ s in the U.K. today. Hailing from Hastings in East Sussex, Danny has been playing on home territory for years, spinning with the likes of John Digweed on many of his Babealicious and Bedrock Parties, where he is resident (current monthly mayhem at Heaven in London and at The Beach in Brighton).

The last twelve months have seen Danny s career step up a gear. His Djing has taken him all over Europe, headlining Jackpot s Unknown DJ Tour and joining Sasha and Digweed on their third UK Northern Exposure Tour as well as playing gigs in Holland, France, Belgium, Hungary, Czech Republic, Australia, Canada and the U.S.A. He has become a regular touring feature with Renaissance, Cream and the Ministry of Sound this year and will be an increasingly familiar name at their parties in the future. Danny has also started a new residency in Rotterdam (Nighttown) this year.

On top of a growing Djing schedule Danny has also been busy with productions and remixes. So far he has worked on a number of projects including mixes for Chakra (WEA), React II Rhythm (Jackpot/Guerilla) and Robbie Williams (Chrysalis). His first mix album, Jackpot Presents Guerilla for Jackpot Records was recorded with Phil Perry of Full Circle and received critical acclaim.

Danny records under the name of Squelch for Jackpot and was responsible for the massive underground hit Crash . He has just completed remixes for Deviant Records (Ashtrax), Flying Rhino and for DMC (Sahida Garrett). Danny has just compiled mix albums for the UK, USA (Profile Records) and Benelux, the latter with Dutch radio legend Mick Boskamp.

Danny s Djing style is refreshingly varied and original in these times of DJ clones and promo-only jocks who only play the big tunes the labels mail them. Everything from disco, deep house and trance will be thrown into the mix with great aplomb and technical precision. The music Danny plays has been painstakingly selected and sourced and it really does show. In fact as train spotters go, he s up there with the best of em.
