Seb Fontaine Profile
Seb Fontaine, at the age of 28, is finally getting the recognition that
his DJ'ing talent and hard work deserves. He has been holding down a
residency in the main room at Liverpool's Cream club since April 1999 as
well as co-hosting a successful show on London's Kiss FM with long time
friend Tall Paul.
He is a DJ who plays for the people, as in his own words "the most
important thing with being a DJ is having the crowd behind you". This
attitude has ensured that he always has a loyal and appreciative following
to hear him play.
The Kiss FM Saturday night 'mix down session' gives him and Paul a chance
to bounce ideas off each other, and give good quality Hard House tunes an
airing. This has been a show that has already run for a year or so, and
looks set to continue for a long while yet.
Like many of the UK's House DJ's Seb has made the progression from the
hand bag House of the early 90's to today's current trend for Hard House
and Trance. He has been a big fan of the Dutch sound since the mid 90's
and has helped bring artists such as Ferry Corsten to the UK.
Seb began his DJ'ing career in clubs such as London's Fridge, The Wag and
more recently Malibu Stacey at the Hanover Grand. Since then he has gone
on to play at most of the countries leading club nights as well as his
Cream residency.
Although not one of the most prolific track producers he still manages to
run the Spot On record label, whilst keeping up with his packed DJ'ing
diary.
The future for Seb looks good. He will be able to build on his Cream
residency in order to give him a good profile in club land, whilst
continuing with his Kiss FM slot with Tall Paul and the A&R work on his
Spot On label.
