DJ Taucher's
real name is Ralph Beck and he hails from the city of Frankfurt in the
west of Germany.
He got his Dj'ing name (which incidentally means diver in German) by
becoming well-known for dressing in a divers skin suit when he went out
clubbing at the Dorien Grey in Frankfurt in the early 90's. This made sure
he was well known on the local scene, even if it wasn't so good for his
health!
Taucher produces and remixes with partner Torsten Stenzel, and together
they have achieved a huge amount of success in a short space of time.
They first came to my attention with the stunning remix of Ayla's "Ayla"
released on Additive back at the start of 1998. This was without doubt one
of my favourites from that year, and since then Taucher has gone on to
achieve even more success throughout Europe and the UK.
He was quickly signed up to the excellent Additive label alongside house
hold names such as Marc et Claude and Lange. This was a very wise move
from one of England's best Trance labels as Taucher has rapidly become one
of Trance's superstars over the past year.
Since Taucher's initial production successes he has been regularly booked
to DJ in many of the UK biggest clubs. He has a monthly residency at
Gatecrasher playing 4 - 6 hour sets of pumping German House and Trance, as
well as regular appearances at Slinky, Cream and many of the Radio 1
Essential Selection Tours.
