The tower to the left of the picture is sited on Canary Wharf on what is known as the Isle Of Dogs and was originally an area of Docks.Most of the place has been redeveloped for business premises and housing and has some of the most modern looking structures in London.The Tower itself is some fifty or so stories high and provides a landmark for miles around.

The double funnel shape seen in the picture above and below is I believe an air extraction system for what is known as The Blackwall Tunnel which is a road link for vehicles that passes under the river Thames.There are actually two tunnels one used for North bound traffic the other for South bound.Both tunnels get quite heavy usage as they provide a convenient point for crossing the river Thames unless you drive up or down river to find a bridge, and without the air extraction system the vehicle exhaust gases would soon choke the tunnels.
