This website, settle-a-bet.co.uk, is a totally independent website giving mountains of information on the contents of bets. It is not affiliated to any bookmaker, nor is it meant to encourage anyone to start betting. Access to the site is free and you don't have to register.

Question:- - So, why design a website devoted to betting?

Answer:- --- I really feel it has to be done, and I enjoy it.

There are millions of people, not just in the U.K., but worldwide who are interested in betting, whether it is for pure gambling purposes or just for fun. Tell me, have you never had a bet on the lottery, the football pools, the Kentucky Derby, the Grand National or the Melbourne Cup? It doesn't matter which country you are in, someone, somewhere is betting on something at this moment.

The betting industry is expanding all the time and people from many countries can now bet with bookmakers and spread betting companies advertising on the internet.

Maybe you want to open your own betting office or spread betting company, here in the U.K., or somewhere else in the world where it is legal. This website contains enough information about the bets available on racing, football, rugby, tennis, cricket and other sports, for you to do so.

Maybe you just want to learn to settle in order to get a job, whether you are leaving college or want to work part time if you have taken early retirement, then why not learn something different.

If you want to learn to settle (calculate) bets, a home study course is available from me. I have many years of experience in management and teaching betting office staff how to manage, settle and system settle. I have managed some of the busiest betting offices in the industry, such as the Peacock in Kirkby and the Eagle and Child near Huyton in Liverpool, settling in excess of two thousand assorted bets at times, on my own. This was without the aid of calculators or computers and you really had to know everything there is to know about settling.

The advice pages on this website offer the facility to check your bet if you are not sure about the returns. Or you might want to change the type of bet you normally do, to get more value for your stake money.

If you want to send in interesting letters and stories related to betting, incidents in betting shops, or other similar material, to be published, then please do so. I hope to start a competition or two, just for interest initially, so if you have any suggestions or questions -- write in.
