TRICAST - 3 Selections -1 Bet
This bet is similar to a Forecast, but now you have to predict the 1st 3 selections in a race to be 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct order.Allowed in handicaps with 6 or more runners in horse racing and also in some greyhound racing.

The Dividends are paid out to a £1 Unit Stake. So if this Tricast was successful, then the returns = Tricast Dividend x 5.
The cost of this example is £5.
Most bookmakers have special ---easy to use betting slips, for bets like Tricasts, but you can use ordinary betting slips if you like.

The amount of bets in Combination Tricasts depends on the number of selections chosen.
E.g. : -
3 Sels = 6 Bets
4 Sels = 24 Bets
5 Sels = 60 Bets
The idea is to predict the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the correct finishing order in a race as with the straight Tricast above, but by doing a combination bet the chances are increased.
With 3 selections, you have 6 chances to predict the correct order --- (6 bets)
3 Sels. --ABC ---Bets are ---- ABC, ACB, BAC, BCA, CAB, CBA.
To calculate the number of Tricasts from a varying amount of selections----- Multiply the total of sels. by the preceding two numbers:-
5 Sels.----- 5 x 4 x 3 = 60 Tricast bets.
6 Sels.----- 6 x 5 x 4 = 120 Tricast bets.

This bet is based on the Patent bet -- Singles, Doubles and Treble (7 bets).
This time the individual bets are 3 x SFC-Singles, 3 x SFC-Doubles and 1 x SFC-Treble. (7 Bets)
Choose 3 races and select 2 runners from each to be 1st and 2nd in the correct order.
A SFC PATENT as shown = 7 bets. Cost of bet = 7 x Unit Stake.
This bet can also be made, doing Reversed FCasts.
If we had selected the same 2 runners in each race, to be 1st or 2nd in either order, we would have 26 bets.
E.g. :-
6 Rev FC Singles
12 Rev FC Doubles
8 Rev FC Trebles
Cost of RFC PATENT = 26 x Unit Stake.

This bet is usually restricted to Greyhound racing.The combination of bets in a SFC YANKEE is in the same format as the ordinary Yankee. I.e. doubles, trebles and accumulator. (11 bets)
SFC YANKEE (11 bets)
Select 2 runners to be 1st and 2nd in correct order in each of 4 races. Then perm them as follows.
6 SFC Doubles
4 SFC Trebles
1 SFC Accumulator
Cost of bet = 11 x Unit Stake.
REV FC YANKEE (72 bets)
Select 2 runners to be 1st or 2nd in either order in each of 4 races. Then perm them as follows.
24 RFC Doubles
32 RFC Trebles
16 RFC Accumulators
Cost of bet = 72 x Unit Stake
