There are many other sports in which bookmakers quote prices.Some of these are Rugby, American Football, Athletics, Motor Racing, Cycling, and Darts. The types of the bets available are similar to those shown in the sports covered on other pages in this website.
Bet types in rugby include tournament betting, match betting, match betting with a handicap, first try scorer and margin of victory.
TOURNAMENT
You can bet on a team to win a cup competition, be it domestic or international. Bookmakers quote odds on the outcome of the events and win singles, or each way a place 1st and 2nd -- usually 1/2 odds a place. You can bet on a team to win or be placed in a rugby league when prices are offered.
MATCH AND HANDICAP BETTING
Prices are quoted on individual matches for one team to beat another. You can bet on these to win or draw in singles or in doubles etc., with other matches or events. Handicap betting on rugby matches arises because some teams are superior in form to others and it is a way to even up the game for betting purposes. One team might be given an imaginary 10 or 12 etc., start and the odds quoted in the handicap betting are mostly the same for both teams but not always. Singles and upwards to win or draw are usually accepted.
FIRST TRY SCORER
Bookmakers quote odds in some matches on the first player to score a try. This is the same type of bet as the 1st goal in football.
MARGIN OF VICTORY
Some bookmakers offer prices on the amount of points that one team or the other might win a match. This bet is more usually seen in international matches and semi-finals and finals of other major tournaments.

TOURNAMENT BETTING
Odds are quoted on events such as the Superbowl. You can bet on the eventual outcome on a team to win or be placed 1st or 2nd. In the qualifying for the final, teams play in leagues with the leading teams going through to the play-offs. From there they play a knockout competition, until eventually two teams reach the final. Betting is allowed with some companies on the leagues, then on the play-offs etc.
MATCH BETTING
This is similar to the match betting on rugby and odds are quoted on the individual matches throughout the American football season. You can bet singles and upwards usually. Bookmakers also offer handicap betting on matches in the same way as in rugby.

Bets on athletics are only available at big events, such as the Olympic Games, the World championships, the Commonwealth Games and races like the London Marathon. Bookmakers generally cover what they consider the main events in these championships. These might be the running events and some of the other track and field events. In most events that they do accomodate, you can usually bet to win, or bet each way to win or be placed. Singles, doubles, trebles and other win or each way multiple bets are allowed.

Grand Prix betting is another category in which bookmakers quote prices. You can bet on the outcome of a race, the forecast in a race and also on the drivers championship. Prices for the drivers championship are updated after each grand prix, as points are awarded for the 1st six places in each race and the accumulation of points for all races in the season determine the eventual winner, 2nd and 3rd. Singles are allowed -- win and each way on each race. You can bet on the outcome of the eventual championship -- win and each way. Some bookmakers quote prices for the forecast of a grand prix. To do a forecast you must select a driver to win the race and a driver to be second. You can do reverse or combination forecasts but remember that each forecast you might do will have its own odds.

Tournament betting on championships is accepted by most bookmakers. The same format is used as in other tournament bets. You can bet on a player to win or bet each way to finish 1st or 2nd, usually 1/2 the odds a place. Match betting is also allowed. You can bet on the player you think will win an individual match in singles, doubles and multiple bets to win only, during the competition. Betting is also accepted on the game score in an individual match. If a match is over 5 games, for instance, you can bet on a player to win 3 - 0, 3 - 1, or 3 - 2. These also are accepted as singles, or if you want to bet on the result of more matches, you can do doubles, trebles and other win multiple bets.
