SNOOKER AND TENNIS BETTING

SNOOKER

Snooker competitions are played on a knockout basis, and general tournament betting is allowed. Bookmakers offer prices on the outcome of a competition.

TOURNAMENT BETTING

You can bet on a player to win the tournament, or bet each way as most bookmakers will pay out on the two finalists. In snooker, they don't have a play-off for 3rd and 4th place. Usually, each way odds in snooker are 1/2 odds a place 1st and 2nd.

MATCH BETTING

Bookmakers do offer prices on individual matches. As there are plenty of matches during the course of a competition and the form of the players is quite well known, betting on an individual to win a particular match, can be rewarding. You can do single wins, doubles, trebles, accumulators and other win multiple bets. You can mix your bets on snooker matches with selections from other sports. So, if you think that Jimmy White, at odds of 6/4, will win his match against Peter Ebdon, -- Lun Wai Li at 4/1, will win his game against Ken Docherty, -- Jay Haas at 2/1 will win his match bet in a golf competition, -- John Lowe at 5/2 can win his darts match against Peter Taylor, and Inter Milan at 6/4 can win their televised football game, then you could put them all together in a win canadian.

FRAME SCORE BETTING

Prices are also quoted for the correct frame scores in snooker matches. To bet on this, you have to nominate the player to win the match and enter what you think the frame score will be.There are only two players in an individual match and it cannot be a draw, as they are played over an odd number of frames. Eg. --- World Snooker Ch'ship £ 10 -- Jimmy White to win 10 - 6 @ 16/1 (.v. P.Ebdon) You can do this frame score betting in win multiple bets and combination bets. An example of a combination bet in matches over 19 frames could be as follows:- 12 x £1 Trebles J.White to win(.v.P.Ebdon) 10 - 6 @ 16/1 10 - 7 @ 14/1 10 - 8 @ 11/1 S.Hendry to win(.v.S.Lee) 10 - 5 @ 12/1 10 - 6 @ 12/1 J.Parrot to win(.v.J.Virgo) 10 - 8 @ 10/1 10 - 9 @ 9/1 The total stake for this bet is £12. The combination is any 1 of J.Whites 3 possible correct scores with any 1 of S.Hendrys 2 scores and any 1 of J.Parrots 2 correct scores. ( 3 x 2 x 2 = 12 trebles). As you can see, you can have a bit of variety when betting on snooker. Of course, you can also do spread bets on snooker.

TENNIS

The bets on offer in tennis are similar to those in snooker. Bookmakers compile their odds for the tournament, individual matches and set scores.

TOURNAMENT BETTING

You can bet on a player to win the tournament or bet each way to finish 1st or 2nd at 1/2 odds a place. There is no 3rd and 4th place play-off. At tournaments such as Wimbledon, you can bet on the outcome of both the mens and ladies championships, therefore you can do win and each way doubles. You can mix your selections with those in other sports.

MATCH BETTING

At the outset of a tennis tournament, bookmakers will quote odds for individual matches in the 1st round, and then update their betting as each round progresses. You can bet on an individual player to win his or her match in a round, or even do doubles, trebles and other win multiple bets on these matches.

SET SCORE BETTING

Matches are usually the best of 3 sets or 5 sets in tennis tournaments. You can bet on the outcome of a particular match by trying to predict the correct set score. In a 3 set match, the possible outcome is either 2 - 0, or 2 - 1 to either player. In a 5 set match, the possible outcome is one of 3 - 0, 3 - 1, or 3 - 2 to either player. You can back these in singles in individual matches, or in doubles trebles and win multiple bets with other matches or other events. Spread betting companies also offer other alternative bets on tennis.
