The Yeomanry Special
Interest Group is one of a number of similar groups within the
British Model Soldier Society devoted to specific areas of
interest to members. The aims of the Yeomanry Special Interest
Group are:
- To promote interest in the Yeomanry Cavalry of the British Army
- Provide a means for members' feedback and exchange of
information.
- To advise members on Yeomanry related events, museums, books,
and manufacturers of figures
- Publish an occasional newsletter for members containing
articles which would not be suitable for the main BMSS Bulletin
because of their specialist nature
The latest issue of
the Yeomanry SIG Newsletter includes: Uniforms of the
South Nottinghamshire Hussars, Part 2: 1875-1914; Museums with
Yeomanry Collections, Part 2 (counties F - M); notes on new books
and additions to the list of manufacturers producing Yeomanry
figures; plus members' notices.
Previous issues have
included: details of recent books currently available on the
Yeomanry and their uniforms; listings of figure manufacturers who
produce models of Yeomanry figures; uniforms of the South
Nottinghamshire Hussars (part 1), and the first part of the
listing of museums with Yeomanry collections arranged by county
(part 1 covers A to E).
The Yeomanry SIG is
one of the newest to be formed by the BMSS and its activities will
expand as membership of the group grows. |
