Some
Common Phobias
Agrophobia
This is a most common phobia and could almost be said to be the final chapter
to all other phobias in it's disabilatating nature it is often accompanied
with panic attacks. The actual phobia is a fear of open spaces and as a
consequence eventually traps the sufferer in their own home . Caught early
enough this problem can be dealt with very successfully.
Social Phobia
This is the fear of being judged, ridiculed, laughed at, shouted at , being
put in the spot light , the centre of attention , to have themselves brought
to the attention of those whom the phobic considers to be judgmental of them.
In severe cases this includes everybody. This produces a disinclination to
perform even the most basic of actions in public or in an area which might be
considered to be public. Trivial actions become a matter of great soul
searching in order to summon up the courage to carry them out , such as public
speaking , eating , drinking performing any physical functions , using a
public toilet , showers such as in a changing rooms , swimming pools, eating
in restaurants, in many cases these actions become impossible to perform and
avoidance is chosen as the only way to escape. Making a decision or stating an
opinion also becomes an impossible task for most social phobics.
Following on from social phobia what I consider to often be sub-categories of
social phobia are :
Emetophobia
This is the fear of being sick, especially in front of people or in a public
place. This phobia seems to effect more women than Men . It proves to very
disabilatating phobia for women as it discourages pregnancy for the fear of
morning sickness. It also prevents both sexes from enjoying the more common
excesses such as rich food or drinking alcohol. This in turn discourages
socialising as the risk of a situation arising which might make them sick
increases amongst a social group drinking or eating to excess.
Coprophobia
This is the fear of defecating ( in common usage shitting , shit or anything
which relates to faeces), this includes using public toilets- for fear of
anyone seeing them , hearing them or even smelling them defecating . This fear
sometimes extends to seeing , hearing or smelling others faeces. In more
extreme cases the fear of loss of bowel control in public prevents almost
totally the coprophobic from leaving the safe environment of their home.
Shy Bladder
This is similar to coprophobia but obviously involves an inhibition about
urinating (peeing) in public or using a public toilet due to fears of being
watched . The fear prevents the person from urinating even when desperate.
This problem is far more common in Men than in women due to the obviously
different lay outs of ladies public toilets where privacy is easily obtained.

How can Hypnotherapy Help with Phobias
Hypno-Analysis
is
a form of therapy which follows the doctrine of
"cause and effect". This means that for
every symptom displayed (effect) there is a cause.
The aim of Hypno-analysis is to find the cause of the and release it ,
once released the symptom (s) will disappear forever.
Hypno -analysis is at it's most effective when dealing with emotional
problems and nervous disorders as they respond particularly well to this
form of therapy.
The Analytical therapy aims to bring within the client a moment best
described as a surprising and liberating enlightenment. This moment of
enlightenment is most commonly found within
8-12
sessions
of analysis . When the cause of the anxiety has been found and released the
symptoms are gone for good.
This is an all encompassing therapy which produces complete freedom from
the symptoms as opposed to merely controlling the effects of symptoms with
anti-depressants, homeopathic remedies ,
smoking
, drinking or Counselling etc.
