Sexual Problems
(dysfunctions)
These are the much less talked about "problems" which people suffer quietly ,
not wishing to talk about for fear of embarrassment or ridicule.
As far as I am concerned they are simply just another example of psychological,
emotional or habitual problems which can be successfully treated by the process
of analysis.
Some of the problems I have been consulted with I have listed below with a short
explanation of the problem beneath.
Impotence
A very common problem for men, the inability to gain an erection or maintain an
erection for the full duration of sexual act.
Quite obviously this symptom causes many problems , for the individual. Feelings
of inadequacy feelings of frustration and rejection for the partner.
Vaginismus
This common symptom which effects many women is a condition which produces
muscle spasm within the virgina ,partially or completely preventing sexual
intercourse . It makes penetration painful or at least uncomfortable and
produces the same problems between couples as Impotence does in men.
Premature Ejaculation
This problem is pretty much self explanatory the reaching of orgasm before
intercourse can be a source of great concern producing feelings of inadequatecy
and embarrassment
Fetishes
This is the need or desire to use what are considered non-sexual objects to
produce a state of sexual arousal and or fascination , typically objects
personal to members of the opposite sex ( although fetishism is almost entirely
a male domain ) items of clothing or an attraction to certain parts of the body
not usually associated with sexual connotations. E.g. hands, feet hair etc.
The need for the object can become so great that it is all important and this
can become a matter of great friction between couples.
Often fetishes cause embarrassment within the person causing anxiety and
feelings of abnormality.
Habitual use of Pornographic Material
In extreme cases this use of pornographic material can become intrusive
preventing a person from experiencing sexual arousal or satisfaction without its
use. Typically the problems arise when partners are non accepting of the
behaviour or the use of pornography is kept a secret thus causing tension and
feelings of guilt in the relationship.
Lack of Sex Drive
Frigdity
(Hypoactive sexual desire disorder )
A general loss of the urge for sex, a lack of desire, not even sexual thoughts.
These symptoms obviously have a detrimental effect in a relationship.
Sexual Adversion and Lack of Sexual Enjoyment
The fear of sexual intercourse or even sexual interaction of any type causes a
moving away from the situation or the biological responses occur and intercourse
can successfully take place but no pleasure is gained from the actions even if
orgasm is reached.
Orgasmic Dysfunction
Orgasm either does not take place or there is a noticeable delay.
For women it is often the case that orgasm does not occur in certain situations
such as masturbation or with particular partners.
for men
Orgasm only occurs during sleep, never during the waking hours.
Orgasm never occurs in the presence of the partner.
Orgasm occurs in the presence of the partner but not during intercourse.
Dyspareunia
( Pain during sexual intercourse )
Occurs in both sexes and is , in women similar to Virginismus but should not be
confused , as the pain is not purely due to lack of lubrication.
This can be extremely painful and produces symptoms which relate to several of
the other sexual dysfunctions which I have described earlier.
excessive sexual drive
nymphomania
This dysfunction displays an excessive sexual drive , a need to have sexual
intercourse yet often either deriving great pleasure and therefore a need for
more or no pleasure except that of (unsuccessfully in the long run ) calming an
inexplicable anxiety within themselves.
How can Hypnotherapy Help with your Sexual Problem
Hypno-Analysis
is
a form of therapy which follows the doctrine of
"cause and effect". This means that for
every symptom displayed (effect) there is a cause.
The aim of Hypno-analysis is to find the cause of the and release it ,
once released the symptom (s) will disappear forever.
Hypno -analysis is at it's most effective when dealing with emotional
problems and nervous disorders as they respond particularly well to this
form of therapy.
The Analytical therapy aims to bring within the client a moment best
described as a surprising and liberating enlightenment. This moment of
enlightenment is most commonly found within
8-12
sessions
of analysis . When the cause of the anxiety has been found and released the
symptoms are gone for good.
This is an all encompassing therapy which produces complete freedom from
the symptoms as opposed to merely controlling the effects of symptoms with
anti-depressants, homeopathic remedies ,
smoking
, drinking or Counselling etc.
Suggestion therapy
can be used in conjunction
with Analytical therapy and used to treat many forms of stress related
symptoms. I have only mentioned four of the most common problems which
suggestion therapy can be used .
If you have
questions about symptoms not mentioned in this list please feel free to
contact me for advice.
