Codsall & Bilbrook Twinning Association

Codsall and Bilbrook are adjacent and interlinked villages in Staffordshire to the North of the West Midlands connurbation in the centre of England..

Codsall and Bilbrook Twinning Association has been extremely successful since the signing of the official agreement to link communities in April 1998, and each year has seen the development of new activities.

In 2002,  there will be a visit from a French musical group to participate in the Arts Festival on the 17th March; a team of young football  players will go to France to take part for the second time in an International Tournament 18th & 19th May, and a group of  English twinning members will  visit  St. Pryvé in October for a long weekend of  sightseeing and partying!

There are ongoing negotiations for a choir exchange in May 2003 and we are always ready to consider ideas for new links between groups, to further our aims of  international friendship and understanding.

Twinning is the perfect way for young people to make contacts to help with language study, and the High School is always very supportive of our activities, as are Codsall and Bilbrook Middle Schools.

Membership of Codsall & Bilbrook Twinning Association is open to all those interested in furthering the links already established between Codsall & Bilbrook and St. Pryvé  St. Mesmin.

Members receive regular newsletters and may participate in the organised trips to St. Pryvé when we stay with French families. Most people host French guests in return, but this is not essential to taking part.

Regular social activities are held to raise funds to pay  for entertainment when our guests visit. In particular, our quizzes are very popular!

Revised: February 28, 2002

Codsall Parish Council  also includes the smaller villages of Oaken and Codsall Wood.
