Royal Deeside
Every now and then I believe it's good to give yourself a challenge - move from your comfort zone - create a new emotion. As predominantly being a coastal artist my portfolio has consisted of the East and West Coast of Scotland and the Outer and Northern islands. The sea has been prominent in my work. Deeside has a feeling of the ancient and seems to epitomise the essence of Scotland. It's been good to venture deep inland and be faced with the plateau and valleys surrounding the River Dee. I have been deeply inspired by not only the visual but also the wildlife, history and folklore.
