My subject matter is found in both the rugged West Coast of Scotland with its isolated cottages and vivid colours of the machair and bracken, and in the East Coast with its majestic cliffs, fishing villages and farm land.

The trip to the Western Isles brings great reward. Here one can find sweeping golden sands and turquoise waters.

Often it is the elements or the untamed force of nature that is my inspiration. But more than anything it is the essential quality of light, which Scotland has to offer.
