Days out over Christmas, 2000 - On Boxing Day - the sun shone:

{Cawood Bridge from the river bank} {All Saints' Church and Church End} {the churchyard - this bit is allowed to grow wild}
{the back road to Wistow and the road to the quarry} The sun shone in Cawood on Boxing Day - the ideal opportunity to try out the Christmas pressy! To left, this was all under water in the recent floods. {view of Cawood Bridge over the sandbags of Water Row}
Then we went to Housesteads Fort on Hadrian's Wall - it was very cold!
{looking down the hill to the shop} {the wall snakes over the hills past Housesteads} {the foundations of the barrack rooms}
The shop and museum Snow clouds on the horizon - frost everywhere
{inside the commandant's house} {the wall beyond Housesteads} {the mile castle}
{wrapped up warm} {way in the middle distance is the car park} {Nick}
Difficult to choose just a few photos! But I wonder what has Nick found - -
After a day out, time for a night out-
{off to the Jolly Sailor - Bob doesn't feel the cold}

Not too far to walk to the pub!

{a welcoming smile from Irene}

Bob makes his selection on the juke box - (right)

{what your right arm's for - or left, in this case}

{a good old rocking medley?}
