Today was another cracking day - I took a different route, Sherburn Street, Fostergate and Back Lane -

{dawn over All Saints' church and River Ouse} {Threadgold Lane}
Early morning on 6 January - cold but sunny
{Sherburn Street in the morning sunshine}
{looking down Sherburn Street} {Bishopdyke} {Bishopdyke runs along the road all the way to Sherburn}
{new houses on the site of the Bay Horse} {Fostergate - looking back towards the village} {Fostergate - footpath across the fields to Ryther}
{this way for the Wolsey Walk} {This is where Fostergate joins Back Lane}

Looking down Back Lane

{Back Lane}
{the Castle looks dramatic against the sky} After the stunning sunrise, we were lucky to have a sunset just as dramatic!

{ducks on the dyke}
{Bishopdyke Road}
The wind whips the clouds across the sky
{the sunset is reflected in the dyke}
