A 6xgreat grandmother of mine was Elizabeth Bowen who married Edward Robinson in 1714 at Church Stretton, Shropshire. They had three children: William, Edward and Elizabeth. The marriage register indicates that Elizabeth was from Church Stretton. While there are several records of the Bowen family in Church Stretton prior to 1714 (e.g. seven baptisms between 1672 and 1687, and a further one in 1700), none were of an Elizabeth. Bowen was a very common name in the parish of Clun, about 10 miles from Church Stretton, and there are several possible Elizabeths baptised there. There is some evidence of a connection between the Clun and Church Stretton Bowens, but I have not been able to find any firm leads for the ancestry of my Elizabeth Bowen. I have not traced the burial of Elizabeth, there being no record of it in Church Stretton.
