I have two Browne ancestral lines, which are unrelated (as far as I know!):
Firstly, based in and around Alrewas, Staffordshire:
Adam Browne. Married (1): Anne, who died at Fradley in 1680 and was buried at Alrewas, Staffs., January 20th, 1680. One child: John (1657). Married (2): Catherine Hatchett, 1682, Alrewas, a widow of Yoxhall.
John Browne. Born June 13th, 1657, Fradley, Staffs. His birth was recorded in the parish register of All Saints, Alrewas, Staffs., baptisms having been banned during the Commonwealth period. Married Eleanor Anneley, February 16th, 1682, at Alrewas (Eleanor died in 1684). Four children, all baptised at Alrewas: Charles, Isaac (bap. August 1st, 1686), Henry (April 27th, 1689) and John (March 11th, 1691/2). Isaac married Elinor Francis at Alrewas in 1713 and had a son, William (1714).
Charles Browne. Baptised November 30th, 1683, Alrewas. Married Elizabeth Spare, April 10th, 1711, Alrewas. 3 children, all baptised at Alrewas: Sarah (1711/2), Elinor (1714) and Elizabeth (1716).
Elizabeth Browne (my 6xgreat grandmother). Baptised October 16th, 1716, Alrewas. Married Elias Froggatt, November 9th, 1733, Alrewas. 6 children: Elizabeth (1734), Catherine (1737), Ann (1739), Alice (1743), Elias (1745), and Edward (1748).
Secondly, a probable 10xgreat grandmother of mine was Elizabeth Browne who married Thomas Corbett of Longnor, Shropshire, c. 1561. They had two children, Thomas (born 1562) and Edward. While there is some uncertainty about Elizabeth's origin, I believe she was the daughter of John Browne, Lisle of Morsal. She is described in the Morris Pedigree as relict of ..... Browne. The term relict normally means widow, but it seems in this case probably meant surviving daughter, as the Mytton Pedigrees describe her as the daughter of John Browne. She is also described in the Morris Pedigree as the daughter of ..... Lisle of Morsal.
In spite of the fact that Thomas Corbett (2) and his son (by Elizabeth Browne), also Thomas (3), are shown as father and son in the Visitation of 1623, the Mytton Pedigrees show them as one person, having two wives, viz. first Katherine, daughter of John Browne, by whom he had John, Edward, William and Elizabeth, and second Jane Morton (Jane was, in fact, the wife of Thomas (3)). Thomas (2) was the second son of Thomas Corbett (1) and Jane (née Burton). Thomas (1) inherited a moiety (half-share) in the estate of Longnor from his father, which he duly passed on to his elder son, Edward; however, Edward died without issue in 1609, and I believe Thomas (2) then inherited the moiety in Longnor. Thomas (2) then purchased the other moiety from Robert Harley in 1610. He died a year later and was buried at Leebotwood, Shropshire, on 22nd November, 1611.
