My ancestral Goodman line is as follows:
James Goodman. Married Ann, maiden name, date and location unknown. They had six children baptised at Stottesden & Farlow, Shropshire: James (1681), Mary (1684), Katherine (1686), Sarah (1689), Samuel (1689) and George (1692). Samuel married Mary Hughs in 1714 and had three children. George married Ann Morris in 1714.
James Goodman. Baptised at Stottesden & Farlow, November 17th, 1681. Married Ann Owens on January 14th, 1705 at Hopton Wafers, Shropshire. He is described in 1712 as a ground collier. They had six children, all baptised at Hopton Wafers: John (1706), Ann (1708), James (1712), Richard (1714), William (1717) and Edward (1722). He died in 1723, and is buried in Hopton Wafers, described as a poor labourer. Their daughter Ann married Thomas Hanson at Hopton Wafers in 1737. Their son James married Mary Bason in 1737 and had six children.
Edward Goodman. Baptised at Hopton Wafers, May 20th, 1722. Married Mary Harper (née Hughs) at Bromfield, Shropshire, on December 18th, 1743; Edward was then of the parish of Wheathill, Shropshire. They had three children baptised at Bitterley: Ann (1744), Mary (1748) and Edward (1752). Edward was unable to sign his name, so made a 'mark' on the marriage allegation of his daughter, Ann. Mary Harper was the widow of Mathew Harper, who died in 1742.
Ann Goodman, my 5xgreat grandmother. Baptised October 21st, 1744, at Bitterley. Married Rhesa Millichamp (also spelt Millichap, Millinchap, Millenchap), yeoman, on September 24th, 1763, the marriage allegation confirming that she was a minor. They had seven children all baptised at Bitterley: Elizabeth, Richard, John, Thomas, Rhesa, William and Francis. Ann was buried on June 6th, 1805, aged 61.
