My 14xgreat grandmother, Elizabeth Hopton married Sir Roger Corbet of Moreton Corbet, probably c. 1445. They had six children: Jane, Mary, Anne, Robert, Richard and Elizabeth. She was the daughter of Thomas Hopton of Hopton, co. Salop, and was sister and heiress to Walter Hopton, who died in 1461.
Elizabeth had some misfortune with her husbands. After the death of Sir Roger Corbet, c. 1467, she married John Tiptofte, 1st Earl of Worcester, in 1468, and they had a son, Edward Tiptofte, who died without issue in 1485. Earl John was beheaded in 1470. Elizabeth then married a third time, to Sir William Stanley, of Holt Castle, who was brother to the first Earl of Derby. He was beheaded in 1495.
Elizabeth died on June 22nd, 1498.
