TAYLOR RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am interested in Margery (or Margaret) Taylor, my 10xgreat grandmother, who married Roger Croginton on September 21st, 1590, at Trysull, Staffordshire.  They had at least four, probably six, children, mostly baptised in the nearby parish of Worfield, Shropshire.  She may have been the Margaret Crodginton, buried at Monkhopton in 1637.

The only possible baptism in the Staffordshire IGI is of Margaret Tailer, daughter of William Tailer and Mrs William Tailer, on December 1st, 1575, at Penn, which is a neighbouring parish to Trysull. Unless baptised late, though, this would make Margaret very young at the time of her marriage - only 14 or 15, and it believed that Roger was then about 30. There was also a William Tailer baptised on 22nd January 1571 at Penn, the son of William Tailer. A William Tailer married Katryn Alporte on February 5th, 1570 at Penn.
