The best way to learn the Alexander Technique - working one-to-one with an experienced teacher. If you read about the technique, you with probably find the theory fasicinating. But trying to put those ideas into practice can be difficult if not downright impossible. A good teacher will help you to start from experience and allow the theory to unfold for you as you go along.

If you contact a teacher, she or he will most likely suggest that you go along for a first lesson to give you some insight into the technique and how it is taught. In the process you will be able to decide whether the technique is the right thing for you at this moment. The teacher will ask you why you are considering having lessons and will help you to see the relevance of the technique to yourself.
