The Parish Council is an autonomous local authority within the meaning of various acts of parliament. It is composed of representatives elected by the people of the parish to make decisions and speak on their behalf. It is a corporate body which means it exists as a legal entity, which is distinct from the rights and responsibilities of individual members.
Keinton Mandeville Parish Council has 9 members and meets on the first Tuesday of every month in the village hall at 7.30pm. Minutes and agendas of the meetings are displayed on the Parish notice board situated on the side of the village shop as well as on notice boards at the church and village hall foyer.

Warm Home Funding
Somerset County Council has successfully bid for a grant from the Department of Health’s warm homes healthy people fund. It will cover the supplying and fitting of warm home kits including draft excluders, tank jackets and pipe lagging to those in greatest need.
Anyone who wants to find out more about what help may be available to keep their homes warm this winter should contact South Somerset District Council 01935 462462
Jubilee Event
You will have noticed in two previous editions of the Parish Magazine that the Parish Council invited interested parties to contact them with a view to arranging a village event to mark the Queen’s Jubilee in June.
To date we have not received a single response and it appears there is little enthusiasm for staging anything. Consequently, we will probably be cancelling our booking of the Village Hall unless we hear something in the very near future.
