Child Protection Newsletter
January 2004
Welcome to the first TJFC Child Protection Newsletter. The aim of the newsletter is to keep you informed of any issues or concerns raised at committee meetings and any new procedures that we introduce to ensure the safety of our players.
Winter Warmers!
The cold weather has finally arrived after a very warm start to the season and the Managers have asked me to remind you to please send your children suitably dressed for all matches and training sessions. Warm and ideally waterproof clothing is recommended to be worn at all times. However, if you have a child like mine who insists on stripping down to shorts and shirt whilst walking across from the car park then perhaps a change of clothes, together with a towel, that could be used after the session maybe the best option. Any bags can be stored in the pavilion for the duration of play.
On the subject of bad weather, and I am sure the worst is yet to come, If a training session is cut short due to extreme conditions players will be taken into the pavilion awaiting collection.
Snappy Happy!
At the last committee meeting we discussed the issue of the players being photographed. This primarily related to the pictures we publish on our website but we also discussed the personal pictures that many of us proud parents wish to take. The following procedures will be introduced with immediate effect.
TJFC Website
All parents to receive a TJFC Website Player photograph letter - See below
Parent Photographs
As mentioned in the recent Update any parent wishing to take photos of players should seek approval from Reg Spicer, either directly or via their Team manager. Reg will then issue an authority card identifying you as an approved parent photographer.
Whilst we appreciate that these procedures may seem a little extreme we feel that this is the only way we can recognise parents whose only wish is to photograph and record their child and child's team successes.
If you have any issues or concerns regarding Child Protection please feed these into your team manager or address them to me directly.
Wishing all our players and families a very safe and successful 2004
Sarah Moore

Dear Parents
TJFC Website Player Photographs
As you may already know TJFC has its own website (www.tjfc.org.uk) The website holds information on the club and its activities.
We would like to enhance the website by including photographs with match reports. The players could be photographed either individually or as a team. We fully appreciate the concerns that photographs on the internet may raise with you as parents and as such we have come up with the following guidelines that we will observe when publishing match reports.
· No photo will be included where a player is named within a report.
· No name will be used against a photo.
· Full face photos will not be published.
We expect that most photographs published will be of the teams playing and will therefore meet the above criteria and be at a reduced risk of potential misuse.
If you wish for your child to be excluded in any photographs published on the website please complete the slip below and return it to:
