How the Teams Line Up
The Gordon League currently fields three senior sides in the South West and regional leagues, all of which have produced some memorable performances during the last few seasons. We are always seeking to improve on past results and are hoping that greater fitness levels and improved coaching techniques throughout all three squads will drive us towards greater achievements over the next few years.  
The Coach:

 

Paul Bright aged 31
Qualified Physical education teacher and RFU coach.
Paul is also a Personal trainer, sports nutritionist and qualified RFU referee.
As a player Paul played for Lydney RFC, Old Pats RFC and Cheltenham in the National leagues.
The highlights include playing against a Gloucester first team at Kingsholm and being a winning finalist in the NPI at Twickenham with Old Pats in 2001.
Paul has been teaching and coaching in education for the past 8 years and this is his second spell as a senior rugby coach after being Cheltenham Saracens assistant coaching 2004. Under Gareth Rees who is also the head coach of England U16s. Paul has been working at Hartpury college for the past 4 years as a Rugby coach/tutor, but has recently started a new role at Gloucestershire College.
Paul is looking forward to a successful season with Gordon League RFC and welcomes all new players that wish to join the club.

 
The 1st XV Physio:

Lucy Merigold is the newly appointed physio for the 1st Team. Lucy is a
qualified Sports Therapist and will be looking after the team throughout the season, covering weekend games and holding a Thursday night injury clinic to help keep the players in tip top condition.

The 2nd XV Physio:

Diane Alexander has also joined the club this year as 2nd XV physio. Diane works with the 2nds for home and away fixtures and if that were not enough Diane also deputises for the 1st XV if Lucy is not available.

Diane qualified in Sports Massage in June 2004 and is Currently studying for an International qualification in sports therapy.
Diane has treated some of the Gloucester (Cherry and White's) players during her time as a physio so you know you are in safe hands.
