The essential differences between writing Arabic and writing European languages are the following :

1- In contrast to European languages Arabic Writing goes from Right to Left
2- The shape of an Arabic Letter is defined by its position in the word.
3- The sound of an Arabic Letter can be modified by using Accents.

The shape of an Arabic Letter is defined by its position in the word
Usually there are 4 positions for the letter

1- Initial (Alone)
2- At the start of the word
3- In the middle of the word
4- At the end of the word
