1949-50

 Still the same shirt, but they've done away with the blue turn down on the socks.

 1948-49

A new pair of socks, with larger hoops and a small blue turn down at the top. 

 1946-47

Thank God, the return of 7 vertical stripes, with a white central stripe. Also a white flash down the shorts. 

 1945-46

 Post war madness sees Wednesday in hoops for the first time since their 19th century post US Civil War days. Most disconcerting. 

 1942-43

 The flap disappears (war time austerity and all that) and an irregular 6 strip comes in, with more hoops on the socks.

 1939-40

 A short lived season (3 league matches before war broke out) . A classic 7 stripe shirt with central blue stripe, but the v of the collar lead to a flap with a white interior which could be seen if the players didn't button up properly.
