At the end of the 2000-2001, Wednesday were handed out a £50,000 suspended fine for their poor disciplinary record.

By the end of the 2001-2002 season, the disciplinary record had not shown enough of an improvement for the FA and they fined Wednesday £5000 - with the other £45,000 being suspended for a further year.
