Myrtle Road 1870-1877

In 1870 Wednesday took the short trip from Highfield to Myrtle Road. The trip however could be a tiring one since Myrtle Road is a steep hill and Wednesday chose a field near the top of it.

It hasn't been possible to pinpoint the exact location but it was suggested in "Grounds for a Change" by Dave Twydell that Wednesday played on the Ball Inn Recreation Ground on the south side of Myrtle Road. This is at least flat as opposed to the other possible areas to the North of Myrtle Road which are decidedly not.

Personally I'm not so sure, since it was described as a 

Wednesday stayed at Myrtle Road until 1877-78 when they played their last game there, a 0-0 draw in front of a large attendance against Heeley.
Wednesday now moved back down the hill to Sheaf House.
