|
This is the centre of the original village at the junction of South street and the main road. In the foreground is the former "Six Bells " public house facing the antique pine shop on the corner of South Street. Until c. 1971 this was "Luckins" General Store. The garage style building on the opposite corner was at one time the village fire station maned by a local volunteer crew. South Street leads past the "The Hulton Hall" the large building in the centre of the picture. The village school is on the right hidden behind the treesin the school grounds.
