Below is a selection of poems I have written at various times in my life. I make no apologies for their shortcomings - they closely reflect the shortcomings of their author. They also represent my thoughts and feelings through some of the disappointments, joys and revelations I have experienced. Some are serious, others are tongue-in-cheek and a few just silly! I'm hoping they just might strike a chord or serve some other useful purpose for someone out there.

Amazing Grace From trying to buy God's favour to grateful acceptance of it.
Better or Worse? Might human "progress" be at the expense of wisdom?
Ambition A rant against the view that ambitiousness is a virtue.
At The Shop Lamenting the effects of a rainy day on sales in 1984.
Coming to My Senses On how we'd rather remain blind than see our own faults.
Fairy Tales A tongue-in-cheek attack on the ethics propounded in fairy tales.
False Logic On how we wonder at creation yet deny its Creator.
Follow Me How recognizing our disease might be a step nearer the cure.
Foolish Faith Arguing that true faith is not blind, but reasonable.
The Generation Gap Observing that history repeats itself every generation.
Indecent Exposure The great benefit of God's chastening, and the alternative.
Paid in Full Another celebration of the gospel of God's free grace.
Pickled Brains A dual attack on the view that differentiates between drugs and alchohol.
Pictures Reporting a simple but revelatory moment early in my life.
Self-induced Ignorance Bemoaning our preference for blissful ignorance over uncomfortable truth.
Social Security A warning to flee from the blinding grip of social approval.
Tolerance On the trend of shifting guilt from perpetrator to victim.
The Ultimate Price Satirical look at the futility of materialism.
Weapons of Destruction A defence of pacifism.
What's the Point? Why would a truly loving God permit suffering?
