So far we have Roger and Mary (nee Bell), one of whose sons was John. John married Mgt Maxwell and one of their sons was Wm John.(my g,g,grandfather)

Wm John Wilton, age 12 years in the 1821 census married Sarah ?Charlotte ?Elliott.( I have been unable to find any date for their marriage in Kilmore parish records. Also in the graveyard of Kilmore there is a family gravestone to an Elliott family.Whether this is any connection to Sarah I have no way of knowing.) Sarah died 12/12/1877, age60.and I can find no record of William John's death.

I wish here to acknowledge the contribution of Ruth Pierce( granddaughter of Richard Wilton)who lives in Smokey Lake ,Alberta. Without Ruth's help this would have been very difficult.

The following children were christened in Kilmore cathederal :-

William christened 6th July 1843. The entry in the records states to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

George, my g,grandfather, christened 29th Oct, 1844. The entry states to Wm and Charlotte of Ballyhillan. My mother told me his name was George Elliott Wilton so this is why I am assuming his mother's maiden name was Elliott and also his mother's christian names were both Sarah and Charlotte.

John, christened on 10th Aug 1848. to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

Sarah, christened on 22nd Aug 1850 to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

Frances, christened on 3rd June 1853 to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

Mary Ann, christened on 4th Oct 1855 to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

Richard, christened on 6th Aug 1857 to Wm and Sarah of Dromora

Of the above Wm. and Richard emmigrated to Canada. I have very recently found out that John went to California, but of the rest I know vey little and that includes my g,grandfather George Elliott. He left the family farm for some reason and as far as I know rarely returned.
